Fed Spec Sealer $2.59 per gal, Latex $77.15/ 5 gal. black beauty 30/60 15.75 per bag. I can understand why some have stopped adding anything but water. It’s sure making it hard on the ones who do things right. It’s hard to compete with people who are still working at the same price we were working for 2 years ago. Where does it stop? Looks to me like pricing is going to put us out of business.
I’m not sure the curse of competing against less than reputable contractors ever ends. The problem you are describing was happening when sealer was 90 cents a gallon and latex was 45 dollars a bucket. But, as one of our former Presidents said, “I FEEL YOUR PAIN.” It seems we at Gem Seal are notified of a pending price increase on something almost hourly, and most of these increases are energy related. All we can do is try to educate our customers about the people that like to take shortcuts.
