    Coverage rate ?

What is standard industry procedure for calculating coverage rates? Does the coverage rate take into account one coat or two?, squeegee, spray etc.

We squeegee first coat and spray the second. I am interested in what paramiters we should be within for our application method.

I would also like to work through an example for 30,000 S.Y. lot with a final mix design of 4lbs silica per gallon, 4% additive and 31 gallons of water per 100 gallons of raw material.

    Thanks

    Todd

    Hello –
Thanks for the question. There is alot there to talk about! I have posted an excerpt from NEAL that goes over this formula. FOllow the link below. You can also use the pavemanpro mix design calculator once you get a handle on it. It is highly accurate, and will also help answer your questions. The spec sheets for the material you use will also give you information on coverage rates and mix designs that relate specifically to that material. They are a great resource and will also help you with this stuff.

Check out the link below. This info will give you insight into the formula.

Then go to the Paveman Pro material Calculator.

If you have any more detailed questions feel fre to post them. We have some material experts around here that we can get you in touch with or who will answer your questions here.

    Take care.
