New paint regulations

The paint store counter guy told me that all pavement painting in New York State has to be water based now. I am new and don’t know if this is entirely true or he is just trying to sell me the paint they have in stock? I know there are new regulations for NY, PA, MD, NJ what do stripers in the northeast (New York ) paint with?

Well I went to the local SW store and they have in stock both water based and acetone paint and also stock both Graco and Speeflo striping machines. I was just going to the wrong stores.

OK Great. I was going to look more into it but it sounds like the other store was just trying to sell you their paint. If I hear anything about new laws I’l let you know. Best of luck!
