I was asked if Poly-Tar was any different from Federal if the right amount of Ultra was added. This question came from a property owner.
POLYTAR is different from federal. We pre add the different latexes to our tar prior to emulsification. This process makes the material tougher and more fuel resistant. POLYTAR also oxidizes less rapidly than a standard sealer and also bonds better to the pavement surface. In scrub test in our lab we have seen a 40% better wear with PT vs. standard coatings.
