Great post! I am in the same position, been a one man band and now looking to hire a couple of employees. I am located in the Northeast and was thinking of paying $18- $20 per hour. My plan is to have one work Monday – Thursday 10 hours a day= 40 hours no overtime. The other Friday-Sunday. I am hiring them as temporary employees so I will not have to pay unemployment when the end of the season comes. Workers comp seems to vary alot wether I work in just parking lots or do some street work. I think the extra help snaping lines, laying out and stuff will definately pay for him. I also do alot of night work so the safety of another guy will be good. Good luck!!!!
