My name is Jeremy and this is my first year in the sealcoating world.I have a million question, but I figured I would start with application.I have heard squeegee is the best, and have also heard brush is the best.I have heard spray puts down the least amount of product.I was wondering if you could give me a rundown on these points…best coverage, amount put down, etc. Thanks for any information.

Hello Jeramy,

Squeegee is almost always the best way to go. Squeegee helps pack the material in low areas along with putting more material down, ultimately giving you a great finished product that last 2 to 3 times longer than spray application. The best case scenario is a squeegee and spray machine so you can go back with your 2nd coat spray to cover all the high areas and smooth over squeegee marks that may be left behind. If you have a squeegee machine you have a niche in the industry that eliminates about 80 to 95% or more of your competition. Also you can demand double and sometimes triple what the normal going rate of spray only. Thanks For the question and Happy Sealing!!!

Hello,
I am qurious about the ride on squeegee machines for sealing parking lots. do you know where i can get ahold of one of these machines? also. do you have to use an sealant that uses sand and agitators when you squeegee the sealant? any info on this would be appreciated. we use a spray glisonite based sealer in ontario. that seems to be the standard here.

Thanks, Raymond

There are only a few options when it comes to ride spray machines. Neal has the DA 350. This is a 350 Gallon Squeegee and spray machine. You can transfer material either thought the pump or in the top. It has a 7 ft squeegee on the back with a 4 inch material drop. You can go to our web site for further info http://www.nealequip.com.

Gilsonite sealer is ok a supose and you being in Canada I would assume you have little to choose from. However my experience with that material is limited because I havent spoke about it since the 90s. You might want to consult in the material forum with Harry Carter from Gem Seal he would have better knowledge on this subject. Thanks for the questions and I apoligize for taking so long to answer.
