Hi all,

I have a clogged hydraulic hose that I cant seem to unclog. I really DO NOT want to pay over $100 on a new hose. Does anybody have any suggestions in how I would unclog it?

Thanks!!!

I want to convert my machine from an oil based sealer to a coal tar sealer. Is this possible? What would I need to do to make this happen?

many thanks,

Adjusting my engine and hose on my tank

Hello,

I want to put a cap on my truck but I cant since my engine and hose reel tower over the roof of the truck. What I would like to do is place them right in front of my sealing tank.

The question I have is regarding the piping. Would my machine work properly if I were to use rubber hoses instead of the pipes I have? If the rubber hose is not suitable could I extend those pipes?

many thanks!!!

Newbie questions

Eric,

I purchased a used Neil 550 trailer unit with the 100gpm pump on it. It appears to be in very good condition. My questions are;

I have never used a hydraulic machine and with a 80/20 mix ratio with 1-2 pounds of sand per gallon what spray tips should i use? It did not come with any and I need to purchase some.

I was told that the leathers were replaced in 2009 and it had very little use since then. Would it be a good idea to rplace these before this season starts?

I will be using a product called Armor Seal asphalt emulsion made here in Washington state, are you familiar with this product and if you are is this my best choice for sealer here in Washington?

I appreciate your time for answering these questions.

I bought this machine in May and have not used it for sealcoating. I was wondering if sealcoating is hard on the wear and tear of a machine like this? Is it a special type of sealcoating material one should use? I have bought Black Jack® Drive-Kote™ 500
http://www.gardner-gibson.com/files/uploads/6452_BJ_TDS.pdf to use on my driveway but just uneasy about putting it through the machine. Any information from the professionals would be great.

Neal 550 wiring help

I have a Neal 550 that had an engine fire. I replaced the engine but I’m not sure I have the wires correct. Mainly the hot wire leading to the hydraulic dump valve. Should I run the hot wire through the switch that activates the material pump or just run a hot wire from the key switch so the hydraulic dump valve has power whenever the engine is running?

Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

Does anyone know where I can get a set of plans to build a sealcoat rig? I have an Ingersoll Rand gas powered compressor and a Graco pump. I have a general idea of what I need to do but would really like a plan to work from. Thanks in advance!

I’m working on buying a used Graco 3400. It is half priced, but the guy doesn’t know how old it is, but says it works well, and won’t need to worry about warranty for a long time. He said he’d even take the pump apart and show me that it hasn’t been used much. My question is…he has had it in storage for quite a while, and it is sitting in a cold garage. He said he filled the unit with diesel fuel as it is better than paint thinner, because it has a lubricant in it. I know it does have lubricant, but wouldn’t it be hard to clean out, and wouldn’t it end up in the paint somehow. He says he has been painting for 30 years and never had a problem. He uses it for house painting and not striping.

Thanks.
