LINCOLNTON, N.C. – The VT LeeBoy, Inc. 8816 Asphalt Paver has been enhanced with CAN Bus control design and Plus 1 steering control to provide operators with a productive, responsive, highly maneuverable and easy to operate paver for large commercial and subdivision or street paving applications.
The 25,000-pound LeeBoy 8816 is powered by a 130-HP Cummins turbo diesel engine and features a heavy-duty undercarriage with two-speed hydrostatic drive. The right and left side operator stations feature slide-out operator’s stations for improved operator visibility. The fully equipped consoles incorporate CAN Bus system design and digital gauges for monitoring paver functions and diagnostics. Paver steering is by Plus 1 control architecture with touch pads.
The 8816 features a heavy-duty heated and vibrating Legend Screed System. The adjustable 8- to 15.5-foot screed can pave up to 6 inch depth of asphalt or base material and offers a choice of electric or propane fueled heating systems. The Legend Electric Screed System, powered by an on-board generator, offers the safety benefit of no flame, fuel or fumes in the screed heating process, along with consistent temperature control of the heating elements across the width of the screed plate and screed extensions.
The 10-ton receiving hopper has hydraulically folding, heavy-duty radius wings and feeds the paver with dual 18-inch conveyors. The screed extends hydraulically and is fed by 14-inch variable speed augers with independent sonic auger and conveyor controls. Patented under-auger cut-off doors make for clean starts and stops, which eliminate most of the hand end work at the end of a pull. Adjustable screed extensions feature a 9 degree slope.
